Happygilmore's Saturday football
SHEFFIELD UNITED vs EVERTON (1230)
A vital game for both sides, neither of whom have yet to trouble the table’s points column. That will change today. It’s probably too early to talk about relegation six-pointers, but this is a close as it gets for September. The pressure’s on both, but the Everton board may start fiddling with Sean Dyche’s P45 if they lose here today. Draw.

BRENTFORD vs BOURNEMOUTH (1500)
While Brentford have made a by now characteristically encouraging start to the season, the Cherries will be concerned with their single point return from the opening three fixtures. It’s hard to see them adding to that today. Home win.

BURNLEY vs TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR (1500)
After last season’s table-topping promotion, many people would have expected more from Burnley on their return to the Premier League. Under Ange Whatisnameopolous, Spurs’ start contrasts sharply with that of their hosts and they’ll see this as an opportunity to climb a place or two. Away win.

CHELSEA vs NOTTINGHAM FOREST (1500)
These two clubs share a passion for making ridiculous numbers of signings. Despite the gulf in the quality (and cost) of those signings, there’s something unconvincing about Chelsea. But not sufficiently unconvincing to drop points today. Home win.

MANCHESTER CITY vs FULHAM (1500)
Man City will want to overtake the upstarts currently occupying the league leaders’ position and do what Arsenal did for most of last season. Can’t see that not happening. Home win.

BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION vs NEWCASTLE UNITED (1730)
A worthy fixture for the televised (for some) late kick-off. Having been trounced at home last week, the Seagulls will be keen to restore their winning record. They’ll find it hard against a Newcastle side brimming with quality, but lacking early season points. Could be a cracker. Draw.

*SUNDAY*

CRYSTAL PALACE vs WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS (1400)
Two moderate sides that will probably finish the season in the lower half of the table. The perfect fixture for a nice post-prandial siesta. Home win.

LIVERPOOL vs ASTON VILLA (1400)
Two quality sides that will be battling for a top-six finish. Both can play football. Should be a good game. Draw.

ARSENAL vs MANCHESTER UNITED (1630)
A good day’s footy watching culminates with this battle between two sides with runners-up aspirations. Perhaps more, because you can aspire for anything. Draw.

Today's games not too appealing, would like to see Everton get beat again. Sadly, think Spurs will put Burnley away, and possibly comfortably

Re: Happygilmore's Saturday football
3 interesting games over the weekend ...
Brighton v Newcastle
Liverpool v Villa
Arsenal v Man Utd

& a real shit fight at Sheff Utd

I'd expect comfortable wins for Brentford, Tottenham, Chelsea, Man City & Arsenal... narrow wins for Liverpool, Brighton & Palace with a DOUR 0-0 stalemate in Sheffield

Re: Happygilmore's Saturday football
I actually enjoy these weekends, we have played, we have won! Now i can just enjoy watching the football.

My only hope is that ManU beat Arsenal, not because i have any affiliation or like of the Mancs but more the Arsenal fans right now have been getting on my goat!

Been giving it large that they took our best player and once he gets some "proper" coaching from Arteta will be the signing of the season, then all this outrage that we have had a decent start to the season, and this is somehow unjust or we got lucky in the 3 games we won, or they should be in the position we are, West Ham are shit blah blah blah.

Gooner Cunts, hope they get stuffed, good and proper.

Welcome back Coffee

Pretty much in agreement with all predictions.

The early game does have a whiff of a relegation 6 pointer already.

Sunday does look the best for viewing, but the late Saturday games sees two sides in Brighton v Newcastle, feeling a bit battered after last week's results and it will be interesting to see which bounces back the stronger

Re: Happygilmore's Saturday football
Would like to see Wolves win and Bournemouth loose.I do think Bournemouth have completely screwed up in sacking O'Neill.

I'd also like to see a draw with Man Utd and Arsenal, preferably with a last minute equaliser for Man Utd. My dislike for Arteta is bigger than last year - and it was quite a big dislike then.

Classic goal keeper own goal by Pickford. Evertons luck is completely out so far this season.

Re: Happygilmore's Saturday football
Great own goal from Englands No 1 goalkeeper !!!

El Scorchio 3:33 Sat Sep 2
Re: Happygilmore's Saturday football
Despite me thinning he probably shouldn’t be England’s keeper, you have to feel for Pickford there. Really unlucky.

But fucking good that Everton look right in the shit this season. They’ve been circling the drain too long and are overdue the drop.

I love watching Everton lose.

Commentator : Nothing Pickford could do there

Well ... he could have tipped it around the post

Re: Happygilmore's Saturday football
I would like to see Everton go down this season. They'll be getting Allardyce back in at this rate.

Fauxstralian - haha! A bit like when someone hits a post and you get; "he couldn't have hit that any better". Well....

Re: Happygilmore's Saturday football
Well he’s redeemed himself at the end there and saved them a point. Draw pretty good. Helps neither team. Would be nice to say bye bye to the pair of them come May.

Pickford to the rescue in the end . Triple jammy saves

nychammer 4:42 Sat Sep 2
Re: Happygilmore's Saturday football
top save Pickford saved Everton there.

bottom line tho - two shit sides who are going to struggle. One of those seasons where there are some clear candidates for the drop

Re: Happygilmore's Saturday football
I see Pierre Ekwah (ex Hammer) has scored two goals today for Sunderland who have hammered Southampton 5 nil.
I wonder if the home fans appreciate West Ham United for coaching their new acquisition?

Fauxstralian 4:56 Sat Sep 2
Re: Happygilmore's Saturday football
Got a bit lucky there ... second save was with his FACE
A draw but not the 0-0 bore I predicted
Agree both will struggle but if you look at the bottom 6 none should give up. Definite decline from last season with Leicester & Southampton going & Burnley Luton & Sheff Utd coming up/

nychammer 5:02 Sat Sep 2
Re: Happygilmore's Saturday football
there will be a mini league in the bottom half with Luton, Burnley, Everton, Sheff Utd, Wolves and possibly Forest and Bournemouth vying to avoid the drop.

Man City have scored. We're no longer top. It was nice while it lasted.
